Everyone has a place they feel peaceful. In my early adulthood,that was Jevanjee Gardens. I’d go there whenever I wasn’t in the right headspace. One time I had a lot on my plate and so I did what was ritual-I went to the gardens.The gardens reminded me of humble beginnings. How the city was built by sex workers and one Indian man,how I was just finding myself musically and in life.
I met an expressive man who seemed to be a professor drowned in his lectures.He went on a tangent on how the sun does not rotate but the planets do so around it and why that was the case.That resonated with me.Carl Jung’s circumambulation wasn’t far from what he said and it got me thinking. At a point when I felt disheartened about my place in music and,society,this message struck a chord with me and was the straw I clutched on to.So I recorded it.
Two years after that,my mental health took a turn for the worst.I had been working towards my ideal self.Everything was off the table save for working towards that.I got to a point where I had panic attacks every night for a week.
I wanted to say what was in my mind but lacked the words to.So I made a song about how I felt.I felt like I was getting the shorter end of the stick in life.Why would I have to pay so much for working on my life?I made a two track project where I expressed what I wasn’t able to say.
